Anne Gajda (gay-duh) joined the LPGA Teaching and Club Professional Division in 2006 and received her Class A status in 2009. Before becoming a teaching professional she was a highly ranked amateur golfer, was named to the Michigan Golf Association Honor
Roll, and played in five USGA national championships. Having played golf for over 55 years, her love for the game is unmatched, and her desire to help others enjoy the game is inspiring. Anne is committed to growing the game through encouraging
instruction and works primarily with beginning and intermediate level players of all ages. She is quick to identify learning styles and preferences and uses this information to develop effective and fun instructional plans for each student.
Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Anne began golfing in the 1950's and won four Detroit junior golf championships and played in the 1968 USGA Girls Junior championship. Anne is a University of Michigan graduate with degrees in piano performance and choral music education and is an Emeritus Professor of Music at Eastern Michigan University where she taught piano from 1979 until her retirement in 2015. When not studying music and performing in Europe in the summers, Anne played the Michigan amateur summer circuit and played in four consecutive USGA Senior Women's Amateur Championships before joining the LPGA.
Anne is a member of the Fox Hills Learning Center staff at the Fox Hills Golf and Banquet Center in Plymouth, Michigan. She has developed a large following of women students, and among her creative offerings are weekend short game schools, Short Stix weekly drop-in putting clinics, Friday happy hour clinics, and Senior Swingers practice groups. In 2010 she was awarded the Michigan Golf Course Owners Association Player Development Award as site director for the LPGA-USGA Girls Golf Club, was selected as a US Kids Top 50 Teacher in 2014, and was named to Golf Digest's "Best Teachers in Your State" list in 2015, the only woman in Michigan to receive this distinction. Anne is a snowbird and spends her winters in Orange Beach, Alabama and teaches there at Gulf Shores Golf Club.
...wanted to tell you what a joy it was to meet you. I love your approach of observing, listening, teaching, and responding. You have a way of clarifying that allows the student to correct the errors that are in the way of mastering the best shot possible.Kathy R., June 2016
